I have both maxtor and WD - the big issue that you guys don't seem to realize at fault is not the actual hard drives it is the systems they are placed in. HD's die due to heat failure since they are magnetic disks spinning if the heat gets too high it can also warp the HD/data just like cars and cause them to fail premmaturely.
