There is already a product that allows you to plug in a series of RAM cards into a board and utilize the memory as storage. The result is instant boot (if the OS is stored on the RAM cards) as well as instant retrieval of data from storage. The only limiting factor of how "fast" your computer is at that point is your bus speed.
