geographical time, of course not. but when youre relying on "news" handed down after decades and finally written down, its a totally different scale.

ooopps never mind h:

The text, written in Coptic script, is believed to be a translation of an original Greek text written by Christians before AD 180.

Yea, I can't write today... They used to pass stories down by mouth. The guy heard about this story and then years after that it was written. It never said this was the original.

:werd: exactly. which means that even if what this text says is true or false, the level of reliability or accuracy is pretty weak, to say the least.

i dont think so... cause using your logic the bible's reliability is weak. we never found the original. i think that this is a big step into finding out what happened.

Why is that? For thousands of years people would pass stories down by mouth with little details changing. The New Testament was written over 100 years after it happened. People then telling stories cannot be compared to today, where in one week our facts will have been changed.

Its probably not from an oral tradition. Lets just clear that up. You're thinking Old Testament.

Anyway, I had just seen an ad for a book about this, I didn't realize what was going on. Fascinating It makes me think of Dumbledore and Snape....
