1. if the parking ticket was issued during a time he has evidence he doesn't have the car, he's not liable for the "ticket" ... only the impound fees. He has a police report proving he doesn't have the car and couldn't make the violation in question.

2. if a parking ticket is issued, those go into a database at the end of the night or the plate is ran on the spot. This is how they put boots on cars. If the police issued a ticket to a stolen car, or didn't determine it was stolen on the spot ... then something is majorly wrong here. :a:

that does seem strange. maybe the ticket issuer was a foot patrol with a booklet and didnt have any mobile access to the PD database :dunno:

these tickets should be going away then. There's evidence that you didn't have the car when the tickets were issued.

they dont suck, they are just doing their job to try and keep rates down. i mean the car was in near perfect condition when it was found, what else are they to expect, some drunk fool with the same car and nearly identical keys took off in your car by accident, only noticing the next day and returning the car to where it was?

Actually yes

The guy asked me if I backed up into the other car on purpose..............and since I had only had the car for about 2 months at that point he asked if it was my plan to try to get into an accident. At this time I'm freaking out and getting pissed cause my supra had just been involved in a hit and run. I was very pissed! However, I also understood that this is their job.

Jae - You can also try Nationwide, I just got quotes from Progressive/State Farm/Nationwide to see what they can offer me if I want to switch my policy come the 11th and Nationwide was by far the cheapest

They may just be doing they're job, but my car and my buddy's car have both been stolen and State Farm didn't give either of us any sort of hassle. GEICO's focus is on lower rates (which would have actually been higher for me than State Farm), and not on customer service. Trust me, if you had a car stolen, the last thing you want is hassle from the insurance company. You've got enough other problems to think about.

Leave GEICO as soon as you get this straightened out. Nothing says more than walking with your $$$.

State Farm might cost a little more $$, but I've never had an issue with things being stolen before.
