When we go out for coffee, there's this one dude who kept coming up and saying his wife just had a baby, and she's in the hospital (it's right down the street from the coffee place), and he needs gas money and all this crap. Well, one day I called him out and was like "Damn man, again?! Your wife has had like 5 babies in the last month"...he just stood there for a second and felt stupid as shit, then just turned around and left.

 

most bums are out of their goards anyway. If you say hello, they'll rant your ear off about polish currency and richard nixon. I've had bums gladly take my leftovers, and I've also had bums threaten me for giving them a quarter. They're loonies!

 

I live in Philly where the bums are plentiful. I really don't notice them anymore.

 

Philly probably has the most bums but they're very passive. They'll stand outside Wawa and ask you for money, but you can just easily walk past them and ignore them.

When I was in London, I hung out in Piccadilly Circus (Time's Square) and had little kids begging for money and food.It was a shame to see, but I know that they were probably children of gypsies who are too lazy to go out and beg.

 

They can get fiesty here. I just have my headphones on and pretend I don't hear/see them.

I was around 7th & Walnut and witnessed a bum jump some guy over the small amount of change he gave him.
