Default question about dvd burner.....

so my dvd burner arrived today....yes i know this sounds really stupid...but how can i make videos that I have downloaded like car videos n "stuff"h: playable on my dvd player?

yeah, i personally use nero smart start it has everything youll need

i use TMPG DVD Author.

Basically... you need a Authoring/Encoding program that converts *.moviefile to an dvd compatible Mpeg file... then create Burnable .vob files that your dvd player can read.

check out the guides at videohelp.com, or doom9.org

sweet thanks alot....yeah the nero start smart asks me if i want to make a video cd or a SVCD that is what I should use correct?....b/c after I click one it says "encoding"

use the nerovision part

edit : you have to change it from cd to dvd in the top right corner

DVD burners are a waste of money. I just go to Kinkos and copy the DVD for $0.10 a copy.

Can't get them to play though, I think it's a software issue. h:
