yeah, well, it's hard not to get the exact amount in there when the engine calls for 4 quarts exactly.. :chuckles:

i'm still under the impression that the guy who changed my oil messed with my alarm and then stole my car (the car alarm went off while in the oil change place... the next weekend it was gone the discription given was of a tall skinny black male in his early 20's with a "clean-cut" look.

hell if it wasnt a dead on discription of the kid who changed my oil

i'm going to the dealer to have them do everything this next time around, i need to have my belts and pumps looked at/changed anyway... so might as well take advantage of their avalible services such as full cleaning and everything else.

"If you want something done right you have to do it yourself"

I can imagine a lot of oil change places stick 5 quarts of 10w30 in anything and everything.

honestly though, in northern virginia how cold does it get, maybe 20, 15 over night?

10w30 is a good oil to use in those contitions--it's rated for 20+ but i'm not worried about my car even tho i've had 10w30 in it for a while and i've started it no sweat under 20 (i figure i'm ok, saying 20+ is more than likely a saftey margin)

with my 5w320 i was down a half-quart every 2k miles so i switched to 10w30 and i havent seen any problems so far...

While this guy's experience is obvious ground for learning to do oil changes yourself, that is no excuse for the bad service that station gave him. Look, if your grandma needs her oil changed you can't expect her to "just do it herself". This is not the society we want. Grandma should be able to go to the service station and get the oil changed right and the only thing she should be concerned about is price, customer service, and relative quality of the job... NOT if the job will be done correctly at all.

You should report them to the BBB. Even if BBB does nothing, it'll be on their record.

You sound like a dick. No matter how poor service is, I would never act that rude.

You would have had a better chance at getting a discount if you were polite.
