honestly though, in northern virginia how cold does it get, maybe 20, 15 over night?

10w30 is a good oil to use in those contitions--it's rated for 20+ but i'm not worried about my car even tho i've had 10w30 in it for a while and i've started it no sweat under 20 (i figure i'm ok, saying 20+ is more than likely a saftey margin)

with my 5w320 i was down a half-quart every 2k miles so i switched to 10w30 and i havent seen any problems so far...
