Lose 20lbs by June 16th

Default Lose 20lbs by June 16th

Well today will be my first day back in a gym since highschool, (almost 3 years) Right now i weigh 280. I want to lose at least 20lbs by my 20th birthday(4 months away). I have cut down on the amount of food that i eat starting last month.
Breakfast- Ovaltine and a vitamin
Lunch- (wendys) Chicken Nuggets, Chili, and a Diet Coke
Dinner-Salad, Either Chicken or Beef

I will work out Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday(maybe)

Monday/Thurdsay-Bench, Closegrip, Curls, and Shoulders, then Cardio
Tuesday/Friday- Squat, Leg press, Leg Curls/extensions
Saturday(up for adjustment)-Cardio(running...etc)

At the rate i will be going i only need to lose 5lbs a month to meet my goal...Am i underestimating the amount of weight i could lose? Should I adjust my regimen? If i stick with this goal how much weight is possible for me to lose total?

there are a few other factors that go into weight loss besides just eating and exercising. genetics is a big thing. but from what youre saying, 5 lbs a month might be less than you'll actually lose, at least for the first months. then you might plateau off and find it more difficult to lose stuff afterwards. i think you could lose 20lbs w/in 2 months, but im not tryin to raise your hopes too high. good luck though.

There's still alot that needs to be done with your meals. You have your diet reversed actually.

1. Eat a healthy breakfast. What you have there isn't enough to keep you going for the entire day.

2. For lunch, ditch the fried chicken chunks and go for a side salad with light dressing. You can even have fries or a cheater item, but make sure to do it at lunch. This gives you the entire day to work it off.

3. Dinner = 1 serving of lean beef or chicken, veggies, and water.

If you cut sugar and fried food all together, you'll lose weight by not doing anything.

If you want to slim down, put 20 minutes of cardio at the end of each workout. You can actually lift everyday if you wanted to, but just make sure to get some running in there.

The first batch of weight is easy to lose. Your body is used to running on fatty foods and no excercise. Diet and workout, you could actually lose the 20lbs in 4 to 6 weeks. Remember, your workouts have quite a bit of lifting involved, you'll start replacing fat with muscle ... so 20lbs lost might be -20 lbs of fat and +10 lbs of muscle.

first things first, cut the sugar, drink more water, and no more fried food.

i lost over 40 pounds in just two months when i was in my wrestling team.

does drinking water help loose weight just because it fills you up without actually eating? or is there anohter reason?

drinking water adds water weight but not body fat wieght.
so you will gain wieght by drinking water but not fat wieght if that makes since.

Yeah i do drink alot of water as it is, I have cut out my sugar, When i have a meal i either drink milk or Diet something, I am done with French Fries, the only thing i eat fried are the chicken nuggets. So since i alredy ate some today i will wean myself starting tomorrow, lol. I have noticed a change over the past month, by cutting my portions i have become full after eating a small meal, I think the main reason to why i have gained weight was because when i got bored i ate to cure my boredom.
