Default anyone ever deal with foam insulation...?

yea just like it sounds ? my room is insuation free and wehad my walls painted a dark blue color so removing the sheet rock wont be fun i heard aboutthe foam stuff but dont know nothing bout it.plus i have 2 windows somy room gets extra cold and it sucks.

if youre pulling out the sheetrock... get regular fiberglass insulation...

solid foam pieces are a pita to use, with all the cutting to fit 'n shit

im talking about the stuff you spraay into the walls...where you cut lil holes into thesheet rock and have it sprayed inside..

i have done it. persoanlly i think its a pain in the ass and never got to see the benefits cause it was just a side job to make some cash. but it seemed to do what they wanted it to do so...

ohhhhh... my bad

ive used some of that stuff before (it came in a can).... make sure you get the one that doesn't expand. I learned that the hard way h:

You're on the right track, except that I think it's a flame-retardant polyester material..:dunno: At any rate, it works. And combined with R-12 fiberglass insulation for the celing & attic, the blow-in insulation will make a big difference.

A local company did the installation on my parents' house in Mill Valley. Since the north end of the house did not have any insulation prior to that point (the house was built in the early 1950's), heating bills dropped by about 20% and stayed low from then on.

The only difference in my experience with the stuff is that the company drilled the holes on the exterior side of the wall, through the stucco. h:

I would highly rec. having a company do this for you, it isnt super expensive, and they do it using the proper methods and materials.
