for the boost, i dont get how. u boost a gsr or a ls cuz of its low end torque.

for the na type r because of the high compression

gs-r's have low end torque? b18b and b20b are virtually the same h:

I'm thinking of doing the same. I'm in the process of looking for a CRX and researching engines. Someone was telling me that a boosted CRVtec would be a great engine and fast, as well as relatively cheap.

With the budget being around 6,000 I guess an LS or GSR motor build up could turn out pretty well, given that you don't spend more than 2 G's on the rex.

I should pretty much be able to write a build up myself considering the amount I've read but you know how it goes: if you don't use it you tend to lose it.

The only thing bad about the stock B20 sleeves are that they are relatively thin. But the engine is far from crap. If you plan on running stock sleeves, then you need to be careful of what kind of turbo you plan on running (CFM), and to tune it correctly. I've seen B20's run 10psi with T3/T04e's on stock sleeves that were tuned well work perfectly fine.

I've also seen them crack at 15psi with similar setups. But that's nothing a set of Darton aftermarket sleeves won't fix. You'll need to bring it to a machine shop to get this done, but if you're doing a CRVTEC, you'll need to bring it there anyway to have the oil line tapped into the block for VTEC operation.

I still recommend the H22 swap. I like the B18C1, but if you're swapping one in from a donor car I'd be hesitant. Find me a B18C1 that hasn't had the snot beaten out of it and I'll pay you a dollar..."35,000 miles" or not

Yeah but, aren't the B20 and H22 just a bit heavy for a CRX? Sure the JRSC is supposed to make great torque which would be sweet if it weren't for the wieght.

I'd venture a guess that the B20 is essentially the same weight as any other B-Series engine. The difference is so small that it doesn't really matter.

A full H22 swap is only 34 pounds heavier than an equivalent B-Series swap. There's the misconception that the H22 is this big ass heavy engine, when it's not.
