I am in dire need of advice during a time of absolute crisis...

I need new tires. Quickly. h: :eek3:

205/45 R16 is the size.

They have to last 25 to 30K miles with bouts of spirited driving and they must have good wet-weather and dry-road traction. Stiff sidewalls preferred. Since the car will spend a fair bit of time on the interstates, a quieter-wearing tire would be nice... but I'll sacrifice some noise for grip and steering response.

My current shortlist includes: {UPDATED}
1) Yokohama AVID H4S
2) BFGoodrich gForce T/A KDW-2
3) Yokohama AVS ES100

I would greatly appreciate any input on the tires you've run and your endorsements / derisions/ etc. Tell me what tires have worked for you and what ones you'd avoid at all costs.

Thanks in advance. :run:

Those are all lackluster performance all seasons. I had the RE950s and the sidewalls rolled over constantly. What you need is a UHP summer tire that is designed to work well in the rain. You don't need something to work in the snow right?

AVS ES100's are supposed to be cheap and decent from what I've heard.

Of those three, I sugges the Yokohama Avid H4's as I've used them and recommended them to others with positive results.

Another to throw in the mix are Falken 512's, very cheap and I'm very happy with the performance of them. Some may say they're too 'hard' but I think they are just right.

Look at the ContiExtremeContact Ultra High Performance All Seasons. If I wasn't using summer and winter tires on the RSX-s I'd be using them. They don't make a size to fit on my BMW without me going to 16" rims.

That's what I was gonna recommend. I have them now and they are better than expected...also, treadwear is much better than expected.

dont go with 40s, the ride is very rough compared to the 45s (i went from 40s to 45s). the step down isnt worth it in my opinion...but wait if u step down from 45 to 40 doesnt that mean u can also increase tire width to 215? id defenetly look into that (if its right...from wat i understand from my "tire profile" post it is...)

id go with the yokos

you want 205/45-16 to be as close to stock overall diameter as possible.
