They actually forced quite a few...just weren't in position to recover. They just didn't have the speed at linebacker to catch Vince...and when the DB's finally broke coverage to get to him, he'd already picked up some yardage or was in the end zone.

I'd hardly say that changed the game. That play was super early in the game, and USC rallied a bit in the second half. It was a very stupid play that probably cost them 7 points though.
