Default Audio question for my friend.

My stock headunit is crapping out, it keeps throwing error's at me, and when it does play, it plays as if the CD were scratched, even when they look perfect, so I know I need a new headunit regardless, but have been thinking of putting together a system for a while.

Honestly, I'm not looking for a system that is going to turn heads when I drive by, and I don't want something people a few cars down, or people a few blocks down to hear. All I want is a little more bass, and and to be able to be a little louder before it gets distorted.

I have 6.5's all the way around, all coxails.

Anyway here is what I've been looking at:

Headunit: http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...y=45&p_main=10

Speakers: http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...y=90&p_main=10

I'd most likely pickup those speakers and the headunit, but I also know I need an amp for those, the only problem is, I don't know what amp to get it.

I am curious if this amp would be enough for simply just the HU and speakers, or if it would be under powered or over powered.

http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...=120&p_main=10

But of course I also want a sub eventually, and I've been looking at this one.

Sub: http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...=150&p_main=10

Now my other question is, would this amp...

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_368.html

...be powerful enough for the 4 Type-R speakers, AND that sub, [Along with, if that Alpine amp is powerful enough for just the 4 speakers?], or would that Alpine one be able to power the 4 speakers and the sub, or if I need a second sub.

Or would that HU + these speakers...

http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/...=104&p_main=10

+ the sub + the second amp [or even the first] I mentioned be enough?

Basically...

HU + Type-R Speakers + Alpine amp = enough?
HU + Type-R Speakers + Type-R Sub + Alpine amp OR Hifonics amp = enough?
HU + Type-S Speakers + Type-R Sub + Alpine amp OR Hifonics amp = enough?

Thanks!

HU + Type-R Speakers + Type-R Sub + Hifonics amp = enough?

Budget isn't as important since I've kinda set my mind to that setup. The HU + 4 Type-R's + Type-R sub, just haven't been able to pick an amp for it all, or even know if I might end up needing two amps if it needs a lot of power. So the Hifonics amp is enough for it all and not under power anything to where it's so underpowered, it's bad?

He is fine with that Hifonics amp to power the 4 speakers and the sub.

I would go with 2 seperate amps. One dedicated 4ch for the Type R speakers and one for the sub. This way you can always add more subs or upgrade the subs if you want. What kind of car is this goin in?

to be somewhat useful i concur with what will said. the hifonics amp will cover everything just fine. youll have to run a 4 ohm setup though.
