if it's the bottom strap on the binding that hurts, replace them with the technine toe straps for about 30 bucks. Instead of it going over the top of your foot it kind of "hugs" your toe back. I just bought them, and the ride is so much more comfortable. You should be able to buy them at any local skate/snow shop.

So you can use those over the toe part of the flow bindings?

I have stepins...not like the clicker stepins, but they actually have a back to the binding. I feel like I have better board control than with my old Burton Custom Freestyle bindings.

freestyle bindings tend to be more flexible and 'give' more than freeride type bindings. my FL_11 flows are the freeride model, whereas the FL_5 was the freestyle. people who spend most of their time in the pipe and park typically want to be a little less rigid and be able to tweak grabs and shit. i prefer freeriding and having more of a direct, controlled feeling when im riding.

i say try the flows if you want. i see lots of people running them and they seem to be fine. if you do tricks it might be another story though since most freestylers tend to have strap-ins for a reason. but if you are doing mostly free riding then go for it :bigok:

Yeah I know, I'm just saying that the difference in binding type (strap in vs step in), I feel like I have better board control with the step ins.

werd. step-ins would work for me as long as the boot was stiff enough.

The boot is pretty stiff, but not unbearable...but my stepins also have a high back.
