I conceded eons ago that it depended on how one interpreted the original question. In that very post, I essentially agreed and accepted that which I overlooked just half a page up, on page 1. I wasn't one of the ones saying it couldn't take off after I was reminded of a simple overlooked fact, one that doesn't need an engineering or scientific background to realize, a point I feel I need to make since it some people feel so "mile-high" and mighty about it. I simply, wrongly assumed that the question being asked implied more than it did.

Anyway, a couple of my observations were echoed in that article:
The question that has been going around is not particularly artfully worded, and I think that has caused some of the disagreements...
The only time it could be a problem is if the wheel speed got so high that the tires blew out.
But if you choose not to ever accept advice from an automotive internet forum based on peoples' discussion of some hypothetical aero-situation, no skin off my back.

Don't sweat it agent87. I already apologized for being hard on people. And I wasn't picking on you per-se. I was just looking back in the thread and seeing how the tables turned. I got carried away when I saw what people were saying. I don't have an engineering background either (I actually did take an intro class that I don't really remember for 1 measly credit hour). For some reason it just seemed obvious to me from the start. I'm sure I would be wrong on many other problems, including car problems.

It's no biggie Highmile. I guess my response was a bit overblown. Anyway, I was definitely slapping my forehead when I realized how simple the correct answer was. All in good fun though.

If this would work why would they bother making runways as long as they do? They could use the same technology to land as well.

But my 8 reindeer only need a rooftop to land and take off, so what do I know.
