yes, i was just clarifying airspeed vs. groundspeed and how groundspeed doesn't necessarily matter.

with the conveyor belt, the plane will have ground speed as a normal take off. the plane will travel down the conveyor belt like the ground wasn't even moving and the wheels will just be spinning twice as fast. the ground has no effect on forward thrust of the plane, and the conveyor belt's only force on the plane is the friction it puts on the bearings and tires.

To those arguing thrust is in the engines not the wheels. Yes, but if the conveyor belt is matching speed in the opposite direction, the plane will remain stationary, thrusting its engines, and not moving through the air to create lift. It's not a Delorean, speed isn't the only thing required for take off.
i hope you're gonna be a foot soldier h:

It is basic physics folks. You need forward momentum in order to gain any air resistance over the wings.
Do a self test.

Lay a can of soup on the conveyor belt at the grocery store. Does the can move with the conveyor belt or does it hold its position?

there is relatively zero shear friction between the surface of the can and the surface of the belt (that's the reason why the wheel is one of mankinds greatest inventions), and the can doesnt change it's position.. that's my point. it's the same idea with the airplane's wheels.
