Get caught buying weed in your street clothes, you get the most of the blame. In the past, when a player was caught doing something illegal, he became a stain on the NBA. Now when they do it, it's more on the individual's level.
It's still going to stain the NBA for letting a weed head remain in the organization, and it happens all the time in the NBA and most other pro sports. The clothing he's wearing when he buys or uses an illegal substance wont have anything to do with it. And they have a lackadaisical drug policy. Maybe that's something they should focus on.

I don't understand that either. Where's my death metal culture?

I'm not naming cultures after musical categories at TowerRecords.com

Maybe the commis and a few other big whigs, but what about the demographic of the fans? Saying that dressing in a hip hop manner is unacceptable is like slapping the fans in the face.

The american heritage dictionary says it's a culture http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=hip%20hop, as does my hard copy of the encyclopedia britannica. If those two say so, I'd be willing to say it's a consensus.

I've always thought it's a culture

I always thought of it as an "urban" lifestyle. "Urban" life draws influences from sports and music and is based on more of a geographic area.

bah, whatever ...

Cliffnotes, I'm right ... everyone else is wrong, except for those who agree with me ... but they're still not as cool. h: :ts: :run:

:chuckles: haha. You could say that a large number of people with similar lifestyles is a 'culture' per se.

If most aren't millionaires they are still making a few hundred thousand. What is the league minimum?

As for endorsements, they should be getting them from their play on the cour not because they dress and act like a thug off of it.

As for individuality, basketball is a team sport. You have to play as a team to win. The player's individuality will show when they step up as a leader of the team, not in the clothes or bling bling they wear after the game.
