Well belief in a god isn't exactly a bad thing, but the way I see it is that it is one thing to be religious and a complete other thing to be a fanatic about religion.

maybe I see it different seeing as to how I am not a deeply religious person in the conventional sense and my religion is a bit different than most others.

Because everyone has to believe in something no matter who you are. If you have no belief in anything at al then what is the point of doing anything either good or bad?

If you are proclaiming atheism as a lifestyle then that is complete bullshit and contradictory, the first thing an atheist screams before the truck hits him is "oh my god"

When hs religion dictated national politics?? Show me the law that has passed that was based on a specific religion where all people of other denominations or none at all have to follow it?

Where has the government created religous intolerance where specific religions are being not tollerated?

Gay Marriage....tell me that isn't religion based
Prayer in schools...again defeated but which religion will conduct the prayer if it does pass?
Abortion rights....again the decision is holding for now but the argument is heavily religion based.

Yes these are examples and valid ones, though they may seem minor to an extent it sets the ground for more religious based decisions to be pushed through. All it takes is one to finally pass and it opens the door for a slew of arguments for many other items.

oh, so if the atheist screams "oh shit" instead, he can still be an athiest? the phrase "oh my god" can be used merely as an expression. screaming "oh my god" does not mean an athiest suddenly believes in any god(s). in this case, "oh my god" can just be a common reactionary response.

and how is an atheistic life complete bullshit and contradictory? everyone has to believe in something, sure, but this statement is not necessarily correlated to religious beliefs.
