and i agree, Mariano for Cy Young, he has the best numbers in every stat, not to mention the hall of fame records he has set.

All voting for the season awards is to take place before the playoffs start so the playoffs do not influence the writers for players whose teams made the playoffs against those whose teams did not.

Ah ... gotcha.

Colon got it. Rivera is clutch, but you'd need 2003 Gagne numbers to win it.

how many saves does rivera have this year again? 40 something? and whats his ERA? < 1. i dont know... thats a tough one to beat.

Gagne in 2003 ... 55 saves, era of 1.2.
Prior in 2003 ... 18 wins, era of 2.43

Gagne walked away with the hardware.



Colon 21 wins, era of 3.48
Rivera 43 saves, era of 1.38
