anyway.. yeah, if you use a ls motor dont put in anythign mfor than 87.. it's stupid, all your doing is flushing it out the exhaust

i'd sugggest using a GSR (c1) engine for the best bang for the buck. it is a little more pricey, but vtec is a wonderful thing to have, esp. in such a light car

The GSR is cheaper than what I was planning on getting for a while, the ITR.

I don't want the 1st gen ls because its alot slower. I'll take a look at GSR engines, maybe I can find a low mileage(Yeah right) one around me. If not I'll look at some sites for one.

I'm talking about a g1 ls vs a g3 gsr.

1994-2001 GSR
B18C1 - I4 16v DOHC VTEC
1797cc
10.0:1 CR
HP: 170hp@7600RPM
TQ: 128lb-ft@6200RPM
Redline: 8100 RPM

1986-1987 LS, GS:
D16A1- I-4 16V DOHC Non-VTEC
1590 cc
9.3:1 CR
HP: 113hp@6250RPM
TQ: 99lb-ft@5500RPM
Redline: 7000 RPM

Thats what he had said. B16a not B18a. I'd rather shell out more money for a faster engine with lower miles than save a few bucks now and buy an older engine with alot of miles on it.

1. for the crx id just go with a B series just so it bolts in easy, JUST incase that wasnt clear.

2. if ur going to boost, id go with the 94-01 LS b18b because it comes with lower compression and higher torque. lower compression= better for boost because there is less of a chance of detenation (there is ALWAYS that chance if proper precautions r not taken) then the low end torque=faster off the line then +boost > boosted gsr

3. the boost for high end + low end torque (already in b18b and will b greater with boost) is perfect for all around power on the powerband. unless u just want boost+vtec for highend only which would just make u play catch up... and u wont b able to h:
