I'd be stuck between the E class and the GS at first. But I'd probably take the GS because from what I've observed with all my uncles buying new MBs, they were more of a headache then a pleasure.
ok...its a no go on the E350..... payments on it for a lease is through the roof.... at about friggin $800/mth :crazyr:

On looks... it's a dead heat between the Lexus GS (350?) and the M35.
I slightly favor the GS; it's more dynamic and agressive.
The M35 looks a little, erm.. :hsdunno:
It really comes down to a test flogging.
I'd evaluate the following, in order of importance:
* Obedient transmission
Since both are manumatics, I want absolute control over upshifts and downshifts. If both cars are equally inept, I'd walk away and find an E39.
* Steering feel/ linearity / grip:
If the steering on the GS is as numb as a Camry, it's a no-go in my book.
* Ride comfort vs "sportiness".
The car ought to waft along when the pace is relaxed, yet not fall to pieces when you want to have some backroad fun.
* Interior design & craftsmanship / durabilty.
The chassis, steering and motor may be great, but the interior counts at this price range. Going in I'd favor the Lexus, but it's close.

Too many doors...none! It's always an option.
