Default Belkin wireless routers>linksys wireless routers

Im done with Linksys Routers.
They fricken suck. How is it that my Belkin router that is on the other side of my house is able to throw out a stronger signal vs my linksys router.

The only obstruction blocking the direct path of the linksys router is the corner of a wall.

Now the Belkin router I have is in my bedroom, on the other side of my home underneath my desk behind my bedroom door with a few bends and turns to where i am now.

looks like Belkin router signals can go through walls?

Anyone else have a similar problem?
Is there a way I could boost the wireless signal on my linksys router?
Its a WRT54g

FWIW, my WRT54G is on the opposite site of my house and i can use it in my driveway, going through at least 3 internal walls and a brick wall

yes, wireless access points use radio waves for communication. Yes, radio waves can go through walls. Metal it cannot. So if your belken has no metal things near it getting in the path of the waves, it could appear to have better distance than the other.

Sure the linksys could just not be doing well....99% of the time it's because of interference.

edit: if you want to get rid of it, let met know

i dont really have a problem with linksys when it is used to connect my dsl to my 2 desktop dells but it doesnt like my apple laptop.. i use the laptop for photography only.. with the laptop linksys cuts off.. the 2 dells no problem.. my linksys is in the bedroom and the phone lines are directly coming off my bedroom outside wall..so im at the beginning of the signal for my apt building..
