Default Belkin wireless routers>linksys wireless routers

Im done with Linksys Routers.
They fricken suck. How is it that my Belkin router that is on the other side of my house is able to throw out a stronger signal vs my linksys router.

The only obstruction blocking the direct path of the linksys router is the corner of a wall.

Now the Belkin router I have is in my bedroom, on the other side of my home underneath my desk behind my bedroom door with a few bends and turns to where i am now.

looks like Belkin router signals can go through walls?

Anyone else have a similar problem?
Is there a way I could boost the wireless signal on my linksys router?
Its a WRT54g
