i hate my car getting dings just like you, but cars around here get keyed and kicked in the quarterpanels if they double space. Because people know you are doing it to avoid dents and parking close to someone. easiest way is to park out in BFE and everything will be

 

yeah i know, thats why i only park like that when i know theres plenty of parking everywhere... ill usually park relatively far and just take up two spots... im not gonna take up two spots right up at the front just to avoid a ding but end up with a new paint job.

Theres more to hot wiring a car than just putting 2 wires togheter, in the old days shure you could do it but with todays cars theres no way thats just what you did. And yeah, I bet you really carry a slim jim in your car.

Maybe two years ago some moron in an old Volvo parked on in front of my driveway, blocking 2 roomates cars in. (one in the driveway one in the garage). It wasn't like parking on the street was full, there was plenty of room everywhere. If he'd pulled up maybe 20 feet he would've been fine. So my buddy and I go out there because he has to be somewhere and needs to get his car out.

We're about to call the cops to get them to tow the car, when my buddy yanks real hard on one of the rear doors, and to everyone's suprise, it pops open. We roll the car forward to unblock the driveway, but decide we have to do something to his car and can't just let him get away with it. We gather up a whole lotta trash from inside the house and load the interior up until there's no visible upholstery beneath the trash. The car was already a beater pos with a bunch of trash on the floorboards, so we didn't feel too bad.

 

Towing the best solution. Legal, legit, and a HUGE PITA for the a$$hole who double/straddle parked.

 

Hmmm... security got back to me and basically said, "yes, you're right that it is a violation, and if our officers have time they'll alert the offender".

It is now my daily mission to report this Yukon every day that he straddle parks until he gets his guzzler towed.
