Transformer nerds ...
Just wondering about these new TF's. If you do open them, do they have the same misc. stuff that was included in older TF's? Like the instructions on how to transform them, catalog of other TF's, and that little red transparency to find out about stats of said TF?
I seriously think I'm putting shelf wear on my toys.
I keep rearranging this caRp to make more space on my shelves.
Speaking of which ... I'm at a code red storage crisis. It's kinda good I'm out of caRp to buy, I'm packed.

Transformers Armada had something called "minicons" which actually attached to the TF as a gun or weapon. Much like the G1 "Targetmasters", you'd always get 2 bots per pack.
Transformers Energon featured the "superlink" ability. You can take any 2 of the $10 autobots and make them into 1 super robot. 1 bot would be the super pants, the other would be the super top.
Transformers Cybertron has the "planet key". You'd take this key, jam it in a slot, and it'll unleash a super secret weapon. This weapon is basically their finishing move on the TV show.
The newer TF's all have a "trick" to them.
As far as packaging goes, there's all sorts of stuff in the newest line to help them sell.
July 2005: $10 Cybertron figure:

This guy came with his planet key and instructions.
October 2005: $10 Cybertron figure:

Now these come with the planet key, instructions, and a bonus DVD episode of the show.
December 2005: $10 Cybertron figure:

Now these come without the bonus DVD ... but are packed with a bonus mini TF.
When compared to G1, there's no more stickers or red visor. The cutout tech specs have also been replaced by a heavily glossed baseball card with the complete information.
1984

2005:

G1 is great since it started it all, but the newer lines have much to offer.
Also consider the price ... A figure like Red Alert in 1984 was $10.

Adujst for inflation, this same figure would cost $18.51.

TF's never went up in price over the years.

But ... if someone offers an AFA-85, you've done business with them before ... would you even think something like this would happen?

Your bro was ripped off. One of those too good to be true, so it isn't cases.

2. You paid $175 for poop wrapped in silk.

I had purchased an AFA 90 Starscream from the seller before. It came in, and it was good. AFA 90 though? I'm still on the fence about the grading, but maybe I'm too picky. All that aside, it was fine. Nothing wrong.
I had bid on a AFA 95 sunstorm from the same seller. I pointed out that he had spelled it "sunstrom" and that he should correct the spelling. The noob hit the end auction button with three days left in the auction. We exchange a series of e-mails. I ask him if it was a mistake, he said yes. I let it go, no reason to be a d*ck about it.
Then I got this. I thought that it was a steal. I had dealt with this guy before, so the "too good to be true" alarm didn't go off in my head. Predaking, AFA 85 for $175? Who would turn that down?
I opened the shipping box, unwrapped the item, and just looked at it...completely speechless.
I looked up the serial number at toygrader.com. It checked out. The acrylyic case is intact. The sticker & hologram are where they are supposed to be. I sent toygrader an e-mail inquiring about this item. I still have not received a reply.
Cheers!

I'm thinking maybe we could pull a Minnesota Vikings with the AFA people. We could all pitch in and get a shag cruise going. We can all bring in our stuff to grade. If they give us good grades on the toys, we'll let them access the "goods".
Some sort of favor had to have been called in to get this Predaking graded 85.
The big question is what to do with the f-ing thing now?
