i voted before i saw the mid + twenties thing.. anyway, 20 yrs old, had $5k + until i put money down on the rsx.

I'm 20 and have 10k+ saved. Being deployed somewhere that you can't spend your money really helps out

Yeah I hear ya. Just don't be like some of the guys that I knew that as soon as they come back they blow all their money on stupid shit in a period of a few weeks.

I had 7k before I graduated and went jobless for about 5 months...now I have about 2k...and jobless again. Once I get a real job, I'll start to save.

When I was in my late 20's, I was about $100,000 in the hole, but I started my residency when I was 29. Paid off my student loans last year. The key is to leverage your debt if you can. Get a house and use the equity to acquire other assets
