no thanks.

the car is 3 months old... the shop told me the bumper will be removed, and prepped + painted.. then reinstalled. the car will not be touched and i requested they do not wash/buff it at all.

Ahh ok. Since its that new you shouldn't have any problems.

Several things can effect how the paint looks. Temperature of the paint, bumper, air can effect it. If it's just peeling right there, then all they need to do is feather out the area that's peeling, paint that area, blend out and clear the whole bumper. No need in actually spraying more paint on entire bumper.

The wouldn't blend onto the trunk lid for a bumper. They would on the quarter panels, but ONLY if it was a horrible match...and even then, they would probably repaint it before blending to make it match.

she said the entire bumper is being re prepped and painted because the diagnosis was "improper prep from the factory" ....

Actually they probobly would. Otherwise your trunk and your side panels would match but your trunk would be slightly different.

I love the color, its like a burnt orange. Sweet!

No they wouldn't man, I worked at a body shop for 1.5 years and my dad's been doing it for 31 years. They'd repaint the whole bumper again instead of blending on the trunk lid....trust me.
