That didn't work. All the programs on there have invalid registries now and they won't load.

Now I am getting random tweaky errors, so since my shit is all gone, I am going to reformat the whole thing and start from scratch.

All my pictures, music, and random files all gone....:cry:

By looking at the link posted, there was no option to repair at that particular menu after it found the previous version, so I guess it was pretty f-ed.

the windows repair thing is stupid.. it's like they expect you to know what keys to press etc.. or codes to enter for repair/ of whats available. same with help

atleast in my experience with it.

this thread makes me sad . My condolences for your data loss, Shmoo. Next time, be sure to back up your music and docs to CD before you mess with the Windows installer (hell, you should do that regularly)

No, they were in my documents, which was wiped out when windows was reinstalled. I might as well have reformatted because everything would be gone either way and now I am getting random "critical" errors.

Yeah, Microsoft blows ass. Their operating system works great when it is working, but if not, you are just f-ed. For a $300 operating system, you would assume they would include some more user friendly repair system to fix their buggy ass operating system.

cuz windows files r saved on the HD so swapping it to another comp would b pointless, sorry to hear wat went down shmoo. thats y i periodically back up all of my files (yay dvd burner ) just incase something like this happens :eh:
