I haven't read the entire act. I have read briefs and summaries of the act which include segments of text, but you can't just stare at the text and understand what it means, because 99.999999% of the act modifies other, existing acts. Take this for example:

Sec 104. Requests for Military Assistance to Enforce Prohibition in Certain Emergencies.

Section 2332e of title 18, United States Code, is amended--
(1) by striking "2332c" and inserting "2332a"; and
(2) by striking "chemical".
Boom, that's the whole thing, on to the next section I do not, nor will I ever have, the patience to go running through every line and hunting down each reference and determining what it means.

Internet Providers' Data at Issue

A federal judge in New York ruled yesterday that a key component of the USA Patriot Act is unconstitutional because it allows the FBI to demand information from Internet service providers without judicial oversight or public review.

The ruling is one of several judicial blows to the Bush administration's anti-terrorism policies in recent months.

And if that holds up -- I will gladly expect and demand it's removed from the Act.

You mean you don't?

Oh okay... selective protection of the Constitution. Yeah, that's a good idea.

You have a good knack for putting words in other people's mouths. Not only does it make you a bad debator, but it makes you sound like an arrogant asshole as well.

How so?

I openly admit that if there are things to be found, ruled, or proved to be unconstitutional in the Patriot Act I do not and will not support it -- and I also demand that the rest of our rights are protected with the same vigor.

What's so "out of there" about that?

Have you considered a career as a right wing radio host? A police background would be a great resume perk.

No thanks, I'll just move straight to politics.

I fail to see how I'm right-wing though. Right wing would be blind support of the Patriot Act and George W. Bush. Neither of which I do.
