I havn't read the entire Patriot Act, and I bet you havn't either. If there are things in there that are flat out unconstitutional, I'd be against it through and through. I'm no more for the destruction of that document anymore than you are.
I haven't read the entire act. I have read briefs and summaries of the act which include segments of text, but you can't just stare at the text and understand what it means, because 99.999999% of the act modifies other, existing acts. Take this for example:
Sec 104. Requests for Military Assistance to Enforce Prohibition in Certain Emergencies.
Section 2332e of title 18, United States Code, is amended--
(1) by striking "2332c" and inserting "2332a"; and
(2) by striking "chemical".
Boom, that's the whole thing, on to the next section I do not, nor will I ever have, the patience to go running through every line and hunting down each reference and determining what it means.
