sorry about your loss, you didnt mention anything about a 240SX, the last gen (S14?) is very beautiful and quite luxurious inside. Hard to find but worth it. Other options could be a SE-R, maybe a Mazda3, MK III Jetta, or an R32?
I'd probably seer away from BMW / RX-7 (Gen II) due to maintenance issues...

h: And at your price point, I'd expect most of the M3's to be driven hard.
A few suggestions:
95-99 Lexus SC300
95-97 Lexus GS300
96-99 Infiniti Q45
97-00 Audi A4 (1.8 quattro)
97-02 Acura 3.2 CL-S

only if you don't know how to wrench on your own car and if you buy parts from the dealer. but that's true even if it's just a civic.

All I'm saying is that an E36 M3 selling for the low teens has probably seen a lot of use. Also, a "bargain" M3 may not have been maintained as well as one selling at a higher price.
In my opinion, it's false economy to buy a car that has been driven hard unless you've got the funds to cover the needed repairs and maintenance.
With that said, I'm out.
LT, I apologize for the thread derailment.

h:eh none of my current cars have enough miles for that requires any major service. however I have made many a friends who also own bmws and they have the experience and tools to do any job
the same guys saved me $500 when i got a new clutch
so it's also who you know and what you know.you are right about abused cars but high milage doesn't mean it was abused. my gfs 330i we bought with 45K miles and currently it sits at 89K and I've taken good care of the car. Oil change every 8K miles and flush the radiator every year as well as bleed the brakes. the only thing that failed was the interior sun roof cover.
