Default Engine noise question.

I know this should be posted inthe audio section but I've narrowed down where the engine noise is coming from.

It seems that by the Amplifier rack i've built the power lines and speaker lines come close to each other when entering the rack.

As long as I separate them does the noise go away.
Is there anything I could use say to wrap the powerline or speaker line?
That way the engine noise wont return?

I've thought about using black tape, or wire loom but then again electrodes go through that. Unless I wrap the wires in lead ill then be ok.

any sugguestions?

Thanks

Make sure you run your power / RCA's on opposite sides of the car, and also, make sure you use => gauge ground wire and keep it short as possible.....also, good RCA cables are important.

read my post again pls.

Power line running on left side of car.
RCA's on right side of car.

They MEET up at the amp rack.
Just so happens the speaker lines for my highs are parallel to the power line when entering the amp rack.

I could just put a gap between them and the noise goes away.
Its just from driving that it gets loose and begins the noise again.

I need something to either wrap the line.

is it possible to run the wires into the rack at different points? would that help? or is it gonna still have the noise because they are next to each other when they connect to the amp

if its just in one spot, i really doubt its the issue. most amps have entry points almost touching each other. what gauge and how long is your ground? what gauge speaker wire? how many watts you pushing? what kind of RCA cables?

I have my wiring for about 2000 watts running in a display format, inches from each other for about 5 ft of cable, with no noise.....the difference is $140 each rca cables (Street wires zero noise) but i have achieved the same thing with $50 rcas and 0 gauge ground wire (min 4 gauge needed)

also, make sure your crossover on your amp is correct in matching w/ your head unit. if your deck is set for high pass, and your amp is on low pass, it amplifies the alternator noise. i've done that on accident before.

it's not "enginge noise" if you seperate the wires and the problem goes away.
