i have been dealing with this since like 7th grade...its not gonna stop itself....
Meds can't erase a problem, you need to become aware of what is causing the problem. All the meds will do is alleviate the issue and nothing more. I had sleep paralysis ever since I was a 13. It got really bad when I started school, even worse when I was struggling as a chem engr major was in a horrible relationship with a girl who drove me nuts. I got prescribed meds to help, they helped for a while but the moment the stress level sky rocketed I had the same old helpless feeling of waking up and not being able to move. The solution was simple, I removed all the stressful things and quit taking my meds - bingo worked like a charm.

Did you even read my entire post, or did you just freak out and start whining when you realized I wasn't just going to tell you the name of a drug to pop in your mouth so you could go walk around without flipping out when you see a group of people?
Go get some psychological therapy. The doctor will help you get over it on your own, if at all possible; And if it turns out that you really do have a chemical imbalance and are incapable of bettering your own life, he will prescribe you some medication.
Just because some people take more medicine than they should doesn't mean anyone who seeks out the help of a shrink is in fact not in need of some kind of medication. So if dude wants then he can go to a shrink and see what the recommendation is. As long as a bit of caution is excercised and he doesn't jump on the first possible suggestion at the first possible moment, and it turns out he really could use some pills, then so be it. I'm not a shrink and neither is anyone else here, so all we can really do is say go to a shrink and see what that person, who has training we do not posess, has to say on the matter.
Well said Mike, a shrink will be able to give better help than most people here.

Nothing, I simply try to ensure that I am not in a situation where I am alone. Might be the escapists way because I am avoiding the problem, but it works for me.
but it will happen in simple situations like walking around a mall...or going to a party...anything of that sort
Don't go to a party or a mall alone, have a person you can trust and who you know will not stab you in the back. If you get that queasy feeling, talk to your friend - it works wonders for me.

But tell me honestly, when you have one of your panic attacks do you or don't you feel as if you are all alone and the whole world is looking at you? If you have someone with you that you trust you can make your mind realize that you aren't physically or mentally alone.

Kinda makes sense, you have a panic attack or are about to have one and you turn around and you see your gf. Your mind instantly goes blank because your gf is probably not your closest friend and one who you'd go through hell with. My solution works because I am single, your case is a bit more complex.
