Default So today i joined a gym

Yup I decided that i need to lose weight... So i go at the gym this morning and the girl was like ok so you will need a trainer, appointments, ect... member ship costs $25/month but then she wanted me to pay extra 20/month for trainer and shit!
Is it worth it? i mean i just want to lose some weight not looking to built muscles right now! I thought i would be doing cardio for hour 3 days a week...
I know there is some work out peeps here what do you think? should i pay for the trainer?

If you've never been to a gym before... get a trainer for a week or so just for orientation. But other then that I am sure the amassed knowledge of HAN Workout Squad will do you just fine.

I'll answer any questions you have if you need help, and i'm sure there are tons more people on here who would also help.

OH yea. I also love how cheap the gyms are in Montreal. My all time favorite anywhere though... is Pro Gym Serge Moreau off Pie-IX, near the big O. BEst gym I've ever been to anywhere.

That the thing they dont have trainer for just a week... they only have long ass expensive plans where you have a trainer with you for 1 hour a week and shit. I dont think i would like some dude next to me trying to motivate me while i work out!

Dude if i just want to lose weight... cant i just do cardio? or is there more to it then that?

and yeah $25/month is pretty cheap... it's at a Nautilus I didnt really have a preference but proximity was a must.

Here, they charge $30 a month plus $200 enrollment to use the gym during off hours... talk about overcharge...

In answer to your question about, "Dude if i just want to lose weight... cant i just do cardio? or is there more to it then that?"

YES! You need to be eating correctly, and really doing aerobic excercises everyday not just 3 times a week. The most important thing is to get your heart rate up and keep it up for a minimum of 20 min. Working out will also help tone up those areas that your looking to shed some pounds in. You don't have to max out or even push yourself to fatigue when lifting weights, but some lifting would be benificial. Good luck.

so total 45 a month? if gyms around here were that cheap, id enroll and keep the trainer as long as i was at the gym.

our membership fees at local gyms are more than 45 and no trainer :happysad:
