Gee pops, I'm too stupid to see the obvious conclusion. Why don't you take me through your argument, step by step, citing the data you linked to?

If not, STFU noob.

now i'm a noob..

what the hell do you want me to say? tobra said, "The United States is a Judeo-Christian Society, that is the short and straight of it. You may not be happy about it, but there it is. ". you said, "A gross oversimplification of the makeup of the country, and its wrong to boot."

YOU are indeed wrong, so i posted this to prove it: http://www.adherents.com/rel_USA.html#religions

i'm dumbfounded that you're not getting it.

need me to spell it out further? in 2001, as far as organized religions, christianity made up 76.5% of the population; and next up, judaism at 1.3%. if that's not a judeo-christian society, please explain to me what it is.

How do you quantify a Judeo-Christian society? Is the only criteria that 76.5% self-identify as Christian? How many of those people are practicing Christians? Are these people in exclusive control of all culture in America? What percentage of our national leadership identifies as a practicing Christian? Do these people insist upon injecting thier Christianity into legislation, and if so, is that Christian-derived legislation the predominant law?

By the way, is abortion legal in this country? Would you say that a Christian society allows abortions to be legally performed?

Yeah. I'd say that Tobra's statement was a gross oversimplification. You, however, aren't really interested in policy debate. You're more interested in dumping on me than discussing ideas.

the fact that 76.5% of the population in 2001 identified themselves as Christian, and 1.3% identified themselves as Jewish, tells me (and any right-minded person) that it's a Judeo-Christian society. but anyway, you're arguing because you don't want to admit you're wrong, so i think i'll stop here.

Or you could completely ignore my questions. Whatever makes you happy.

I know why its legal. I'm asking you if a society that is defined by Christianity is one in which abortion is legal. Feel free to answer whenever you're ready.

How can that be? Christianity does not permit abortion. Isn't that a bit like a Muslim woman wearing shorts and a t-shirt in Riyadh?
