Default What gas to use

New to the space - not sure what gen I have, but it's a new 04 - V6. According to Honda and all the technical publications, there is nothing to be gained by using anything but 87 octane, reagardless of who makes it. Some fuels, like Chevron, appear to have superior detergents in their fuel, but it really shouldn't matter, as long as your car is in good shape

Some cars require higher octane. Higher octane means the gasoline has a higher resistance to detonation (a.k.a. knocking, pinging, etc). Some cars are programmed to run more ignition timing advance if they have higher octane in them, but the increase in power is incremental at best. Just run whatever the minimum recommended octane for your car is.

So me, I run 87.
