Default I need a lawyer

Seriously!!!

Some of you know the clutch went out on the Accord, since I needed to get it done I took it took a local mechanic here in instead of our usual mechanic. Before he returned the car he told me after the work got done it was throwing a check engine light and he took it to someone else to have it looked at. Turned out to be a coolant sensor he had broken in the process of putting the car back.

Well after I picked up the car I noticed my glove box completely broken. (They have to take apart the glove box to check the check engine light code.) I went back and asked him if he knew the glove box was broken. He said it wasn't his fault since he had given the car to someone else to work on. I told him I gave him the car and it was his responsibility to fix it. He then tells me he will zip tie and duct tape it together and I told him that wasn't an option.

Now he refuses to repair my glove box despite knowing he is responsible. I have been very nice to him and I am certain he will do nothing. Realistically speaking what are my options? Does the BBB do anything worthwhile?

Its a glove box

Tell him you want him to replace the glovebox with a like new quality glovebox. Line one up yourself and let him know the price and where to find it. Then call it good.

You don't need a lawyer because it is small claims kind of prices.

BTW don't get so worked up all the time over little things like this.

no lawyer is going to waste their time trying to fight that "case" or lack of. not worth the effort and time to them.

No Sean my guess is you said he was responsible for fixing it, when he said he wasn't you then got angry and demanded he fix it. He in turn offered you a solution and you probably implied something involving getting ripped off and court in some manner and that was when he stopped working with you.

Sometimes we blow things out of proportion because we only see our side of things.

I didn't mention courts or anything, just told him that I was disappointed that he didn't mention the glove box was broken. Wouldn't you be pissed if 1) they took your car else where without your permission 2) in the process something got broken and 3) they now claim its not their responsibility. I do believe a shop isn't allowed to take the car to somewhere else without the consent of the owner, I didn't authorize him to take the car somewhere else.

Dear Sean,

Your car sucks. I should have taken it to the junk yard.

Real f*cking funny considering I value my car dearly and I now have to fork out around $50 to get my glovebox back into one piece.

dude lighten up seriously.

Sean you could do with the same advice. I notice you are a bit high strung and very self depreciative at times, just try what I said earlier and see if you can't come to some agreement.

Him taking the car to someone else isn't illegal although it would be best if he had mentioned it to you first, but if he didn't charge you for the other guys work then there really is no recourse in that matter.
