Sean you could do with the same advice. I notice you are a bit high strung and very self depreciative at times, just try what I said earlier and see if you can't come to some agreement.

Him taking the car to someone else isn't illegal although it would be best if he had mentioned it to you first, but if he didn't charge you for the other guys work then there really is no recourse in that matter.
I even asked him if he would put my new front axle on and we'd call it even. Nope, I tried working with him in every way and he just refuses to come to a compromise. I just think zip ties and duct tape isn't the solution. I am not asking for brand new parts, he can easily go to a junkyard and get some parts. Oh well I'll just fork out the fifty and get her done, up my coverage to AAA plus so Danny our family mechanic can work on her from now on.

Front axle with hand tools takes about 30 minutes....do it yourself

There really isn't much you can do except file with the BBB regarding the matter and if you really want to hound him then file a small claims against him for the cost of replacing the glovebox to your satisfaction plus court costs.

I'll call the BBB office and see what happens, its not worth the time or money to fight him. I'll just tell everyone I know that he is a crappy mechanic. I know the front axle is a 30 min job, its just pissing cold here and I don't have a garage or the right tools. :happysad:

1. its a glove box.
2. lawyers will not work for that. what are you going to give them, a fee of the ten percent of the damage? :chuckles:
3. maybe all it needs is some duct tape and a zip tie. honestly, its not like they busted up your engine or something. do you even use the thing more than once a month at the most?

No they completely broke it and rigged it shut. When I opened it to write down the amount for the clutch in the auto expense book the whole thing fell to the floor. They broke all the clips, hinges, the back and the base. Trust me you'd be pissed as hell too.

sure i'd be pissed, but i wouldn't be thinking of calling a lawyer. i'd saunter up to them in say, "In just a few phone calls, i could destroy your business. Now instead of finding out whether I'm serious the hard way, why don't you hand me a $50 for the costs, and we'll forget this happened." Thats pretty much you're only option, since you've already pissed them off.

if you worked with lawyers, you'd know that if you tried calling a lawyer on this guy's ass, you'll get laughed out of the place. what don't you understand about this? its like trying to sue your local pizza place for delivering a pizza with the wrong topping.

I am not serious about the lawyer, its not worth the hassle. Its one of those things you say, kinda like describing humans as Harmless. h:

i know you aren't serious about the lawyer, but even if you threatened the guy with one you wouldn't get anywhere. tough it up and just buy a new glovebox with your own money.
