how do you get it from the house to the range if you dont have a carrying permit?

Carry permit allows you to carry it LOADED on your body. Otherwise, in CA, you have to have it locked (trigger lock or gun vest) in the trunk of your car. And I think it has to be in a different compartment than the rounds or magazines.

Correct...thats the way it works. As far as the cop thing, im working on it waiting to hear back from some towns, countys, etc.

I wouldn't transport a firearm anywhere in CA, NY, NJ, or CT. It's too easy to be charged with some random firearm crime there, it's bullshit.
