I sure hope she didn't pay that much. The absolute highest price listed on cnet is $199 and it can be had for as low as $149. Unless she bought it with the EasyShare dock which then I could see how the price would be higher. The dock is yet another layer of idiot-proofing with shortcut buttons for emailing pictures and whatnot. Cnet doesn't have an actual rating for this camera, but they gave its stablemates the CX7530 and CX7430 pretty good marks. I'm sure it works fine as a regular point-n-shoot camera which doesn't exactly require its user to do much in the way of actually think. I'd say it's reasonably equivalent to the Nikon Coolpix 3700.

For about the same money as the camera without the dock there is the Canon A75 which has a bit nicer of a lens and some more advanced features but it's also more bulky and (assuming she got the dock for the Kodak) less idiot proof when it comes to things like email.

yes, the dock was bundled with it through HSN. All she wants it for is everyday pics... grandbaby etc.... actually.. she doesnt even "want" it.. she buys whatever looks good to her.. she doesnt need another camera.

I personally don't like Easy Share Cameras. They aren't all that great, my mom just got a newer one and its still pretty big. I feel a bit scared when i used to use it cuz of the plastic its made out of...yano like its gonna crack and shit if i ever drop it. Feels alot diff then my Sony that i have, it feels really durable. Oh and for some reason the little "easy Share" cradle thing sucks ass. My moms doesn't work half the time so we just hook it straight up to the comp thru USB. Eh...i dunno, i just don't like them personally....
