If you're that worried about fitting in, one day why not make an attempt to make plans with them? Say you were thinking about going to such and such place and ask them to join you. Or make friends with less gossipy folk.
well, it is a small org, in this building, there are 8 of us, and only 4 of us are at the same "level" the rest are supervisory or executive.... im not one to seek sympathy to get involved with something like "hey sure sounds like you guys have fun, i might like to join in sometime" and i feel like if they wanted me to come, or hang out at any other time, they would have invited me along by now. so i just deal with it, i just wanted to see if anybody else would be uncomfortable in this situation.

im trying to find another gig but in this job market, your options are few and far between, right now awaiting a call-back from a local org that i applied at to be the director of marketing and community relations.... here's hoping....

Screw 'em. Take your extended bathroom and lunch breaks. They should learn some multitasking and get some of the work done themselves.

well im glad to hear that you got one and that everybody there loves you and you get along with everybody - but if there is somebody you dont get a long with, you dont give a shit cuz they probably work far enough away from you that it has no effect on you, your work, or anything else about you. maybe they have an opening there so i can work in such a harmonious place.

I know what you mean about wanting to fit in. Its not like you really care about going out with them, its just like feeling like the outsider maybe just with one of them try to strike up a conversation with them......i dunno how you are IRL, but if you are quiet or shy, they might think you don't want to hang out with them. Are you doing anything with your behavior that may come off the wrong way?

im glad somebody understands the fittin in part.

IRL, ive been told im a pretty charismatic and easy to get along with guy, im not too shy once i get to know you, at first i might be a little quiet but gimme a day or 2 and im comfy... i chat somewhat regularly with them but there are times where i feel like im completely out of the loop, almost as if im working by myself.
