Pricey, but they look really good... I'm just unsure of spending $500-550, and one place even quoted me $700 for all 4 installed (screw them)

Mind you, I live in a town where a modest 2-room condo will run you well over 400K... You learn to get raped by the prices :happysad:

***mind you though, those prices are the out-the-door prices, so they're a little higher than the tires alone...

You've combined the names of two tires.

There is an "ultra high performance summer" tire made by BFG called the g-Force T/A KDW 2. In 205/50-15 it costs $97 a piece from tirerack.com, plus shipping and mounting. It looks like this:

There is also a "high performance all season" tire made by BFG called the Traction T/A. It is not available in 205/50-15, however is available in 195/55-15. In that size it costs $78 per tire plus shipping and mounting. It looks like this:

In terms of performance, the KDW 2 does pretty well but it's hardly a match for something like the Kumho MX or Falken Azenis. The Traction T/A is an all season tire which means even less dry grip.

Tire prices are the same no matter where you are, unless you get a hookup. Some places sell them a few bucks cheaper, but it's not a huge difference.

It'd be nice to know which tire Keebler's talking about in order to know what an appropriate price might be.

They artificially inflate prices for most things in my town. Hell, the local honda dealership tried to charge me $130 for an ignitor :eh:, and there was at least one gas station here charging a bit over $3/gal for premium 2 months ago.

If the stores think they can get away with it, they overcharge in this town... it's rather bad, especially with car repair, because there's many people here who toss credit cards to fix problems.

The Toyo Proxies TS-1s look nice, but anyone know of a non-CA (thus tax free) supplier?

Maybe smaller shops, and gas is different. Larger chains should have the same prices across the country.
