Default Torn on tires

I'm gonna order some today. Either I can get the Yokohama AVS-ES100s (Awesome dry, nice wet handling, will last max 20,000 miles) for $405 installed, or I can get the Kumho ECSTA ASX (Very nice wet and dry, will easily last over 30,000 miles) for about $375 installed...

I'm torn between handling and practicality :happysad: Opinions?

I don't think the ASX's would grip nearly as well as the AVS in the dry...smaller tread blocks and much higher treadwear rating. I would go with the AVS personally.

<- 15" wheels, thus no MXs :happysad:

I think I'll get the AVS, because I think I'm gonna get some larger rims in the next year, but I can't help but think about getting twice as much usability out of the Kuhmo ASXs for cheaper though... ARGH

I have no experience with the ASX but I can say that the ES100 is pretty good for a cheap all around summer tire. As long as you have sufficient tread depth, I will agree with what you know about them being decent in the rain as well. Compared to Falken Azenis and old W10's (not that anyone cares about those old Dunlops), they wear like iron.

Kumho Ecsta ASX are all season tires. Unless you plan on using the car in the snow you shouldn't bother looking at all season tires.

If you can't find Kumho MX then you must be searching for 195/55-15. Check out 205/50-15...$82 a tire plus shipping.

Or if you don't wanna spend quite that much there's Falken Azenis from discounttiredirect.com shipped for $77 a piece. :rick:
