Most cameras that do not offer manual control only will let you adjust the ISO. This means no F-Stop or shutter speed adjustments. Just whever they have preset.

the kyocera really seems like the best for snowboarding photos, but I'm concerned its overall quality isn't as good as the a95... its also bigger. I'm also concerned that its only 4mp...

Dont focus so much on the MP number. Companies use the MP number to draw in unknowing customers. Kinda of like just looking at the HP number for cars. If you can, see if you can dig up info on how big the CCD is. Cramming 5MP into a small CCD will not net better pics than 4MP on a bigger CCD.

the CCD it the thing that converts the optical image into electrical signals which represent the information contained within each pixel. uaually bigger=better. If you have a Small CCD(like in the Minolta) you lose some of the picture quality, even if you have more MP. So MP is not the only thing you should be looking at. But if you want a compat camera, then that means that the CCd will be fairly smaller then a "non compact" camera.
