k i finally redid the whole setup. ive decided to go with a Gigabyte videocard 6800GT the asus AV8 DEluxe mobo. and the 3200+ 939 pin cpu (AMD) i think thats all i changed the total comes out to $1401

also there is a vantec tornado 92mm fan. 4 coolermaster 80 mm fans and the GPU fan. how loud do u think this computer will be? and with the fan controller wut fan(s) should i set to on/off on the fan controller. 4 can be adjusted 2 can be on/off. wut do u think?

I can use my sound card off my old computer. the two seagate harddrives and floppy drive and 6-1 media card reader. theres probally other stuff but thats not important

Those look to be pretty quiet fans, but 4 of them will still make something of a racket. If you're trying to keep the case quiet, you might look for a case that utilizes 120mm fans. They operate at a lower rpm (and thus are quieter) yet move the same amount of air.

I'm using a CoolerMaster Centurion 5 Case with a 120mm exhaust fan and an 80 mm Zalman intake fan. I love the case, and the mesh grille on the front essentially means the entire front acts as an intake. The case is nearly silent. I'm running an AMD 2500+ OC'd to 3200+, with just a stock Radeon 9600XT, so I don't need quite as much cooling as you do. Those new GPUs run pretty warm.

correct me if im wrong on this but...my mom asked a friend's dad about the setup i want to get. he told her "with all the parts being made by different manufacturers, you will run into problems." Ive never heard of this unless hes talking about a Pentium 3 tryign to fit onto a New motherboard problem or if hes i dont even know wut. Please explain he wants me to get a Dell

Nice setup.
The comment about parts being from different manufacturers causing problems is ignorant.

While that comment may have been true in decades past, manufacturers are pretty careful to make sure that their parts work with everything else out there. The benefits of standardized interfaces and codepaths...

Except for harddrives. In my experience, it seems like hdds don't like to play with other brands. IE, I tried to install a Maxtor hdd as a slave to a Western Digital, and couldn't get it to boot. But other than that, every thing should work dandy with your setup.
