I'd love to carry a Kimber or a Springfield 1911 of some sort, but no department in California lets you carry a locked-and-cocked primary firearm.

Most departments give you a SIG or Glock and let you carry whatever you want if you can qualify with it. The departments that like me both carry SIG's and both allow me to carry my own firearm, so I'll be carrying the HK USP 40.

Nice! (If you're serious).

In about a month I'll be taking "control" of an HK SL-8, which is the civilian (semi-auto only) version of this:

The department issues that over the AR-15, because it has a collapsable stock and I guess they like it better. *shrug*.

Yeah thats why I am waiting to buy my new clips for the AR. I figure the price should drop on the 30+ round magazines....I am looking for a couple 60 round mags.:rick:

Yeah I hate the no true collapsable stock on the AR-15...I could have gotten the 108 (I think thats it) but the upgrade options for that gun suck ass and all you really get is a folding stock.

The stock I am getting is going to be a slide collapse which works out pretty good even though I would prefer the folding stock for close quarters action.

The department likes the collapsable stock not for close quarters, because we have MP5's for that, but for carrying it in the vehicles. With it closed we can carry both a Remington 870 and the SL-8 in the cabin of the car.
