My gf goes to a personal trainer at her gym and has been very happy with it. I know that can be expensive, but she also has some Pilates dvds at home. I tried it with her once, it's an ok workout h:

Why not just go running and do some crunches to start with?

There are different variations of crunches to work different sections of your abs.

Walking stairs will help your ass h:

noone mentioned diet. are you eating junk food, or are you eating well? a balanced diet and cardio will be the most effective way to tone up. my sister teaches aqua-size(water arobics) and she's pretty slim and fit. a water resistance class is low impact(on your back and other joints and sturr) but you'll get some good results.
