Not even close, the EVO came out just as the Integrale was on its way out. The Delta HF 4WD came out in 1986 and the HF Integrale came out in 1987, way before Mitsubishi or Subaru had a clue of what AWD meant.

HAHA :lmao: Try mid to late 80s and early 90s. The last car was produced in 1994 just as the EVO was starting off.

Haha Sean were you watching Fifth Gear again?

I was watching it today. VBH is uber 1337 WGFC material.

Mitsubishi, Plymouth and Eagle all had AWD cars available in 1989. Lancia beat them to the punch, but the Syborg will crush that Lancia. Those are rare/non-existant. Anyone in the united states with one had to build it. Dodge, however... had Carroll Shelby build turbo 4-cyl cars on the Omni chassis in '86.

See it HERE: http://www.xmission.com/~dempsey/shelby/sheldod3.htm

I dunno about forefather, but I will say Lancia was one of the first, and had some really good ideas.

Before anyone goes nuts on EVO facts...

The predecessor to the EVO was the Galant VR-4. Built for several years in other countries, but roughly 3000 of them came to the US between '91 and '92. The EVO development began in '90, and the first lot of them got snatched up immediately in '92 when they were released.

So the Evo went public in '92. The GVR-4's are PREvo's.
