One of the sales reps that we first spoke to ordered a black one with the factory lip kit, and he'll be reaching out to me next week when its supposed to arrive so i can see what the color and the kit looks like.

The closest we come to taking orders is on the Prius. You pick one of three option packages (Toyota lists nine available packages, but is only building three of them for the forseeable future), and give 1st, 2nd and 3rd color preferences. The dealer sends in a request for an allotment of a Prius with a particular option package, and whatever color Toyota feels like sending is what shows up. The dealer then calls the customer and lets them know the car is in and asks if they want it.
On the tC, Toyota has already decided who is getting what for at least the next couple of months. What the salesman did in honda_pilot's case was talk about an incoming car, as in the car has already been allotted to the dealer and the dealer has been given a VIN and specs.
From the commercials and pics I saw the tC looked pretty nice. I have not gone and seen one though.
What dealership was this at that you saw the tC?
Every time I go past the Gibbons Toyota up on 6 I never see any Scions there. :dunno:

I saw one sitting on the lot with gunmetal rims. those tC's are sweet looking, and the price is pretty decent. especially considering its a Toyota. the only thing I wonder is the glass roof. how strong is that? if the tC was rear wheel drive I'd be all over getting one of those.
I was thinking about getting a Scion TC but I thought against it because the new Corollas XRS, I might be getting that instead. I mean hell, it's a small ride with 170hp. My dad has the original corolla s and I think it has 135 hp. It's fun as hell to drive. So I say no to the tc, also the corolla xrs has a lighter body then the scion tc which seems heavy, i too test drove it, i was pretty pleased with it's handeling but I thought it lacked power because of it's size.
The Scion tC is the first nice toyota i've seen since the supra and turbocharged MR2. I've hated toyota for the past 8 years or so because of the lack of efficiency, styling, and performance. The tC on the otherhand is beautiful, gets 160 naturaly aspurated HP out of a 2.4L I4 (sounds a bit like another jap company), and w/ and w/o the supercharger performs decently. I've been a Honda lover for years and have an '02 EX but the tC is truly enticing me to sell my civic, add on the 9K in the bank and get the supercharged tC... well... i'll think about it. Nevertheless, Scion is toyotas first marketing genious. They made the xA and xB as clearly horrible cars; slow, ugly, and unwanted. They sit in the lot and sell slower than any car i've seen in years... but how horrible they are sure did get alot of talking going on in magazines, on the streets, and in these forums.... which brought ALOT of attention to the company in perfect timing to release a car thats actually very nice, and very nicely priced. I commend toyota for the first time since the supra and to any of you out there w/ 20k and looking for a new car... get the tC, the non-S/C is nice too for 16k. The tC wont be 16 and 20K for long... trust me, the non-supercharged will be priced similar to the SI in a few years, and they should be, they're worth every penny. The tC... as of now is the corvette of imports... (performance for dollar)
